Hungarian Forint Appreciation Halted
"After moderate appreciation as global market confidence improved in leaps on bounds on Tuesday, optimism for the Hungarian forint is once again evaporating.

Asian stocks suffered minor setbacks earlier on Tuesday, signalling a halt to yesterday’s swift improvement in market confidence. The major European and US indices also suggest opening in the red.

Coupled with a practically unwavering EUR/USD rate at 1.2580, the current negative investor sentiment swiftly put a halt to the appreciation of the Hungarian forint, with quotes vs. the euro rising from yesterday evening’s 284 to 285 Tuesday morning. The Swiss franc is traded at 213 to 213.50 as opposed to 212.50 on Monday afternoon. USD/HUF quotes rose about 2 units to 226.50."
