Xpat Pub Review: Drink Oasis In Downtown Budapest
This watering-hole opened earlier this year in the heart Budapest, facing Károlyi garden. Csendes Társ (Silent Partner)is a wine store, café and pub all in one. The place is multifunctional: beyond the usual selection of soft-drinks, coffees and various types of alcohol, more than 500 types of Hungarian wine and around 200 types of Pálinka are available.

Located on Magyar utca the store is popular with those who have already discovered the beautiful of the Károlyi garden near Astoria, a peaceful green island within the busy city.

Those visiting Csendes Társ can take a rest from the bustle and spend a few joyful moments sitting either in the pub or in the terrace. The place is a wine store as well; so customers can take home bottles from what they have tasted in the store.

The design of the store resembles the style and ambience of old, rural vine-cellars. The designers worked together with young artists to create the rustic interior.

Gypsy musicians and a pianist take to the stage in Csendes Társ, and various special events take place each week, such as wine- and cheese tastings, in an attempt to attract more customers.

Beyond the extraordinary wide range of drinks, sandwiches and even breakfast awaits anyone who wants to enjoy the early hours in a stylish hang-out in the heart of the city.
