Shopping Insight: Top Ranked Supermarkets in Hungary Revealed Based on Sales

Turnover of Lidl stores in Hungary was close to HUF 1,802bn in 2025.
Runner-up was Spar, with turnover of nearly HUF 1,186bn, followed by Hungarian-owned chain CBA, with turnover of HUF 911bn.
UK-owned Tesco was in fourth place with sales of HUF 907bn and Hungarian chain COOP was in fifth with turnover of HUF 887bn.
German-owned Penny was in sixth place, with sales of almost HUF 679bn, and German discount chain Aldi followed with sales of HUF 644bn.
