Night of the Museums Returns with Hundreds of Venues Across Hungary

Hungary’s annual Museums Night is set to return on 20 June, with hundreds of participating museums and cultural venues preparing thousands of programmes across the country.

The event’s official website, muzej.hu, is now live with the full list of venues, programme details and practical information for visitors.

The popular summer cultural night brings together museums, galleries, exhibition spaces and other institutions in Budapest and beyond, offering a wide range of activities from exhibitions and guided tours to family-friendly events and special performances.

According to the organisers, the participating venues continue to update and expand their programmes as the event approaches.

In Budapest, wristbands for the event can be bought at participating venues and via jegymester.hu, with adult tickets priced at HUF 3,000 and children’s tickets for ages 6 to 18 at HUF 1,500. Children under six can enter free of charge.

The wristbands give access to the full programme of participating museums and cultural institutions in the capital, including permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Some events have limited capacity, so organisers advise checking the individual programme pages for any registration requirements or restrictions.

The website also recommends planning routes in advance using the Muzej event@hand app, especially for visitors moving between multiple venues in Budapest.

Public transport and dedicated museum bus services marked MU will also be available on the night - details here.
