Budapest Airport Creates Park & Ride Facility
- 30 Jul 2012 9:00 AM
Budapest Airport has converted the area in front of the now disused Terminal 1 into a Park and Ride facility, with parking for 128 vehicles, it was announced on Friday. The train station connecting Liszt Ferenc International Airport to the city’s Nyugati station is only a two-minute walk from the parking area, spokesman Mihály Hardy noted.
The facility is the airport manager’s contribution to a greener Budapest which serves commuters, Hardy added.
Parking fees start from Ft 500 for 0-14 hours, and a monthly ticket costs Ft 12,000.
Budapest Airport closed the terminal on May 30, more than three months after Malév went bankrupt.
