Budapest Reduces Street Lighting
The city of Budapest has begun to turn street lights on later than previously in the hope of saving Ft 66 million in the second half, news website Index reports. The city council made the decision on June 20, said city public lighting company BDK.

In another energy-saving initiative, tests have ascertained that an electric battery-powered bus produced by Chinese manufacturer Byd consumes less than 25% of the energy used by the city’s diesel buses.

The eBUS proved more energy efficient even when its air conditioning unit was turned on.
