Bridgestone To Triple Production Capacity In Tatabánya, Hungary
Bridgestone of Japan, the world number one rubber tire producer for motor vehicles, will triple its production capacity at the Tatabánya plant by creating 505 new jobs.

The management of the Japanese Bridgestone has made a decision on capacity expansion at the Hungarian production facility. The company will create 505 new jobs by investing almost 267 million Euros and it will triple production capacity at Tatabánya. The planned expansion will increase the daily production capacity of vehicle tires by 12 000 and thus the full capacity of the plant will be boosted to 18 thousand units per day. The capacity expansion is expected to be completed in the first half of 2017.

The Hungarian Government welcomes the project, as it enables high-technology, environmentally friendly production in Tatabánya which will create more than 500 jobs directly and several more at suppliers indirectly.

By now Hungary has become the motor vehicle industry center of Central Eastern Europe and this trend has been further strengthened by the currently announced investment which will also contribute to higher Hungarian exports. Interest of foreign investors in Hungary have been constantly increasing which is demonstrated on the one hand by the rising number of ongoing projects and on the other by announced project plans as well as completed investments. Total production at motor vehicle industry projects announced recently will as a whole add approximately 2 percent to Hungarian GDP.
