For safety reasons, in high winds for example, the operation of the Chairlift might be temporarily suspended at any time.
How to get to the Chairlift
The upper station of the Chairlift can be reached from Janos-hegy Station of the Children's Railway. Take the walking path marked with a red stripe. The route is about 750 metres long with a height difference of 80 metres.
There is a longer but less steep route starting at Viragvolgy Station. Take the path starting behind the station building and turn left after about 150 metres. Take the paved Janos-hegyi ut. The route is about 1350 metres long with a level difference of just 40 metres. There is a walking path parallel to Janos-hegyi ut as well.
From Zugliget, the lower station of the Chairlift, take Bus No 291 to Budagyongye stop, change over to Tram No 61 running in the direction of Moricz Zsigmond korter to reach the public transportation hub of Szell Kalman ter (formerly called Moszkva ter).
