Xpat Report: St. Patricks Day Parade In Budapest On 17 March
The snow had melted away, the sun was shining, Irish eyes were smiling, and Hungarian eyes and everyone else’s eyes were smiling together. A small piece of the emerald Isle had gathered to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day: colourful, warm and charming, which, in my opinion, sums up the nation.

Actually, it was hard to tell who was who as all the different cultures got together to go on a parade, which was led by two very tall men on stilts, and driven by the glorious sound of bag pipers.

It all ended up at The Akvarium Klub, where you could enjoy some lovely traditional Irish food, dancing and last but not least a drop of the dark stuff, which went down a treat, just as the rest of the day did.
