Hungarian Ministers Pay Low Income Tax
Some cabinet ministers enjoy income tax payments below the flat 16% rate, Napi Gazdaság reports, citing data from the government website. The primary reason is the tax break granted to those with large families.

However, deputy prime minister Zsolt Semjén paid no income tax on his earnings of Ft 19.7 million, for reasons that are unclear. The family allowance would not be enough to exempt him of all taxes, Napi Gazdaság writes.

Interior Minister Sándor Pintér’s unusually large income of Ft 519.6 million is due to the receipt of instalment payments on companies he sold earlier, which amounted to Ft 503.4 million last year.
