Britannica International School In Budapest To Host World Scholar’s Cup Regional Round
Britannica International School is hosting the regional round - the first ever held in Budapest - of the World Scholar’s Cup academic tournament this coming Saturday, 12 October. This premier international academic event attracts students from all over the world, resulting in what it calls "a global community of future scholars and leaders.

"It’s a unique opportunity for students from different cultures to come together to discuss issues and ideas relevant to today and their future. (www.scholarscup.org) Teams all over the globe first compete in local Regional Rounds; the twenty highest-scoring teams in each division, junior (ages 11-14) and senior (ages 15+), will qualify for the 2014 Global Round in Singapore.

At the Budapest Round more than 60 students will represent international schools of the European region and undertake different academic and social challenges and demonstrate skills that connects Science, Technology, Art, Literature, Music, History, and Current Affairs.

Moderating the Budapest Round will be World Scholar’s Cup founder Daniel Berdichevsky, a graduate of Stanford University and a Dean’s Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, along with a dedicated team of organisers and educators from the United States.

Over the 2012-2013 season Britannica International School students had outstanding achievements:
All Round Top Team –Senior Division (1st Prize) – Prague Round

Global Round in Dubai - Britannica’s Senior Team perfomance ranked them in the top 10% of teams at the Global Round – enabling sucessful qualification to the Final tournament of Champions to be held this coming November at the prestigious Yale University, USA.
