Budapest Prosecutors Confirm Horváth Is Under Suspicion
The Budapest prosecutors office has rejected a complaint from former tax official András Horváth over the police search of his home and seizure of personal belongings on December 19. The prosecutors said on Monday that the house search and seizure were lawful and well-founded because there are legitimate grounds to suspect Horváth of the crime of slandering the tax office NAV.

The NAV formally accused Horváth of slander on November 28 after he told reporters that tax and government officials were turning a blind eye to potential tax fraud by certain large companies, costing the state some Ft 1 trillion in lost VAT revenue.
