Hungarian Festival Ballet Suspends Operation
Lack of financing has forced the Hungarian Festival Ballet to suspend operation. An internationally-renowned ballet dancer, the company’s head, Iván Markó expressed thanks to the many hundreds of thousands who attended performances since 1996.

The Hungarian Festival Ballet was formed in September 1996 as the largest independent company in Europe. Its members are young dancers, with an average age of 22. Markó, the founder of the company, has been a leading figure of contemporary ballet in Hungary.
