Hungary’s Public Institutions Far From Being Accessible

The paper, referring to data of the Human Resources Ministry, said that health-care institutions meet most accessibility criteria, while municipal governments meet some of them and cultural facilities have the most deficiencies. Under European directives all public institutions should have been made fully accessible by end 2010.
Relevant projects made 910 municipal and 159 state-run facilities, as well as 3,350 public services accessible across the country, the paper said. It added that 40 to 65% of Hungary’s institutions offered a smooth access to disabled people.
