Unlicenced Tobacco Ownership To Be Criminal Act In Hungary
The unlicenced ownership and acquisition of 5 kilogrammes of dried, fermented or cut tobacco would be classified as a criminal act under an amendment proposal submitted on Monday. The proposal submitted by parliament’s economic committee with the aim to strengthen child protection legislation was unanimously approved by the constitutional committee.

The economic committee headed by Antal Rogán of the ruling Fidesz party said the penal code needs to be amended in order to fight the proliferation of illegal trading in tobacco which represents a special threat to the health of children.
