Multinational Food Companies Keen On Hungarian Soy Product
- 10 Jan 2014 8:00 AM
The soy product, which has won awards at three different major food exhibitions, has nutritional value similar to that of beef or pork, but is far less expensive, Szilbereky said. It is made by a Hungarian-owned plant set up near the capital in 2009.
The product, called Yaso, is made from domestically-grown soy, guaranteed to be GMO-free, which increases its market value, the managing director said.
The plant producing the soy product is expected to triple its output this year from 500 tonnes in 2013.
In 2015, output of Yaso is expected to reach 2,000 tonnes, generating revenue of 1.7 billion forints.
