The agreement serves to strengthen and further develop an existing partnership and was signed to mark the 25th anniversary of UNICEF’s Convention on the Rights of the Child, László Székely, the ombudsman, said at the signing event.

Respecting human rights begins with acknowledging the rights of children, he said and called the protection of children and guaranteeing their rights a common responsibility of society.
