Hungary’s Socialists Meet OSCE Delegation
The opposition Socialists held talks with OSCE election observers on Tuesday afternoon, Népszabadság daily said. Socialist board member Tibor Szanyi said he had stated clearly to the OSCE delegation that the opposition had voted against the country’s new fundamental law and the new election law drafted by ruling Fidesz.

He said this latter legislation had “forced” parties with different platforms into a unity alliance.

The OSCE representatives met officials of co-ruling alliance of Fidesz and the Christian Democrats, as well as the radical nationalist Jobbik party, the paper said, adding that they would return to Hungary prior to the April 6 general election to meet democratic opposition parties for further talks, the paper said.
