Easter is one of the biggest holidays of the year. Hungarian retailers are experiencing an increase in customer traffic in stores compared to previous years. According to György Vámos, General Secretary of the Hungarian Retail Federation, consumers are predicted to spend HUF 45-50 billion on this year’s religious holiday, compared to a HUF 30-40 billion average in the past seven years, writes local newspaper Napi Gazdaság.
Mr Vámos emphasized, that this amount only represents the Easter excess spending that people spend on products such as ham, eggs, and alcoholic beverages.
