See What Happened @ Spring Pálinka Festival, Városháza Park Budapest
Unknown to many people who live outside Hungary, “pálinka” is as popular as “Puskás” and Goulash (”gulyás”) for most inside. So it came as no surprise that this year’s Spring Pálinka Festival was going to be a hugely popular event. And for those discovering this magical potion for the first time, they were in for a treat.

The Pálinka Festival of Budapest stirred up downtown Budapest once again for the ninth time with a total of 29 exhibitors. In addition to the well-known distillers, this year visitors had the opportunity to meet several new exhibitors.

This year´s special treat was the “Pear Pálinka of the Year”, which is a blend of Hungary´s best pear pálinkas, followed by plum, apricot and sour cherry and many, many more. All accompanied by some wonderful traditional food and music.

With so much to taste I decided to try a few. I tasted the cherry mezes (with honey), which was delicious and slipped down easy (very easy). And if I had tried as many that were on show, I would have slipped down easy too!!
