Million Parking Fee Transactions In Hungary

Motorists made close to 1.2 million mobile payment transactions paying for parking and purchased 123,000 motorway toll stickers and tickets in the first month of operation of the state-owned uniform mobile payment system, introduced across Hungary from July 1.
Turnover from mobile parking fee payments (the sum of the fees paid to municipalities and the state) amounted to 506 million forints, and turnover from sales of motorway toll stickers and tickets came to 421 million, state-owned national mobile payment company Nemzeti Mobilfizetési (NMF), the sole collector of fees from the system, told MTI.
Parliament passed the act on the state-owned national mobile payment system in late 2011.
