Lázár Applauds EU Money Granted To Hungary
- 4 Sep 2014 10:30 AM
János Lazar insisted the upcoming period would fundamentally change the country, giving it the chance to become a more competitive economy.
He also pledged to streamline the system of drawing down EU money by introducing a simpler and more transparent system for disbursing it. The first tenders will be called as early as this autumn, he added. Lazar said that 60% of the overall amount would go the SMEs, up from just 16% in 2007-2013, and the food industry was also a “big winner”.
He announced that the government is launching a major programme for building motorways that would reach Hungary’s borders by 2018. The government’s goal is to link up county seats with motorways, he said.
