New Russian Ambassador For Hungary Appointed
Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed a new Russian ambassador to Hungary, the Russian daily Kommersant said on Thursday. Putin signed Vladimir Sergeyev’s appointment papers on Wednesday and at the same time he relieved Alexander Tolkach of his post. Tolkach had been ambassador since 2009.

Sergeyev has been at the helm of the Department of International Organisations at the Russian Foreign Ministry since 2011.

He worked at the Russian mission of the United Nations in New York from 1997 to 2001, before moving on to deputy leader of the Russian mission of International Organisations in Vienna from 2004 to 2010.
