Preserving the cultural heritage, protecting human rights and supporting education are crucial responsibilities even in areas of conflict, Katalin Bogyay, Hungary’s outgoing ambassador to UNESCO, said in an interview to MTI in which she highlighted Hungary’s role as a mediator in the international community.
She insisted that Hungary had an edge in multilateral diplomatic ties, saying the country’s contributions as a consultant are globally appreciated. Bogyay will head Hungary’s UN representation in New York from next month.
