Gyurcsány Calls Putin's Visit To Hungary A Disaster
The visit by Vladimir Putin to Budapest is a diplomatic disaster for Hungary, party president Ferenc Gyurcsány declared on Friday. No European leader has been ready to have a bilateral meeting with the Russian president since the November G20 summit in Australia, he said.

The visit is solely in Putin’s interest, Gyurcsány continued, as he can break the “boycott” against him and show that there is an EU country that is ready to talk to him.

He described Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s visit to Ukraine on Friday as a damage limitation exercise, saying the prime minister is trying to offset the aversion felt by European and American partners regarding Putin’s visit to Hungary.
