InterContinental Budapest Appointed New Executive Chef Of Hotel
The InterContinental hotel has announced the appointment of Gergő Gullner as their new Executive Chef. He will assume responsibilities on 13 April and will succeed Ulf Burbach who has stepped down for family reasons.

Gergő Gullner has worked for well-known international chain hotels like Kempinski Baltschug in Moscow, Marriott in Zurich, The Monarch Dubai, the Al Wazzan Group in Kuwait building his career of the Executive chef for the last 20 years. He has started as an apprentice chef and made his way to Executive chef position. His last position was an Executive chef at Al Wazzan Group, Kuwait where he was in charge for the kitchen operations and managed 180 employees.

He has obtained a diploma of the Advanced kitchen management - at the Emirates Academy (associated with the Ecole Hotelier de Lausanne) and has won an award at French Gastronomic Competition. During his career he has prepared food for many world dignitaries like John Paul II, Queen Elisabeth, Hilary Clinton, Roman Herzog and Philip Duke of Edinburgh and many more while being responsible for running the kitchen of above mentioned hotels.

His hobby is flying with paragliding wings. He has two sons and very much dedicated to their upbringing.

His philosophy towards gastronomy: “I love to celebrate simple things in life and it is the same in the kitchen. I don’t like to overcomplicate things. I search for the perfect match of flavours and I like to share it with others. I love to create a unique experience for my guests and that goes beyond the food. There is always a story behind each dish that starts a different conversation. I believe that people should share these moments in life.”
