Uber In HUngary Offers Compromise Proposals
- 24 Jun 2015 9:00 AM
Network taxi company Uber has presented a five-point proposal to authorities to solve the current dispute with ordinary taxi companies. Uber suggests that its business model be legalised in order to make it possible to pay taxes. The company also recommends that the market be deregulated, arguing that this would create 2,000 jobs for drivers by the end of 2016.
Market entry barriers should be lifted and a simple and transparent tax model should be introduced, Uber says.
In a hostile response, Taxi Association president Zoltán Metál said neither his organisation nor the government could take seriously the proposals of a company that does not comply with the law.
