Visit KisBécs To Feel Vienna Vibes In Buda
- 16 Jun 2015 9:00 AM
KisBécs is a small shop selling the best wines of Austria opened recently at Németvölgyi Street, near Királyhágó Square a short stroll from Déli Railway Station. Altough we are talking about a fairly new place, there are always a few regulars hanging around, enjoying a glass of Neil Diamond's favorite drink. You can enter the store through a small terrace that is shared with the flower shop next to it.
When we asked about their drink selection, the owners said that they have no problem with Hungarian wines, they just wanted a place for Austrian ones too – which aren't better or worse, only different. You can find the best products of all Austrian wine regions, but if you are hesitating to decide which ones are to your liking, don't worry – they regularly organize wine-tasting events.
If you'd like to grab something to eat, there are different types of sandwiches: one with Austrian ham and salami, and another with pear and blue cheese (both cost 990 forints) – but you can also go for the Tuscan salad with dried tomato, olive, feta cheese and almonds, or another one with mozzarella cheese, pomegranate, and grapefruit (both cost 990 forints).
An apple pie with whipped cream on top with a coffee is our tip for the sweet-toothed, but you can also hop in to try their breakfast menu, or the special pairings of Austrian wines and dishes that go well with them.
Simple, yet loveable: that's KisBécs – a place that doesn't try to attract regulars by overstating how good and unique it is. A place like this on every corner would be more than welcome.
