CBA Store In Balatonfenyves, Hungary For Sale
Zso-Li, the company that operates the CBA store in Balatonfenyves recently in the news has put up a “for sale” sign, Népszabadság reports. The company came under fire from the Economy Ministry for circumventing the ban on Sunday shopping by obtaining a license as a farmers market, as markets are exempt from the ban.

However, CBA issued a stark warning to franchise members last week to respect the ban. On Friday, Zso-Li handed back its market license. The family-owned business was not available for comment.

Somogy county council has sent a circular to notaries on the guidelines for designating retail places as markets to avoid similar cases, Népszabadság was told by the Economy Ministry.

Many local governments around Lake Balaton have lobbied against the Sunday shopping ban, as there are simply not enough shops to serve tourists and local authorities are worried about the loss of revenue.
