Fidesz: European Commission Openly Interferes With Hungary’s Affairs
- 14 Dec 2015 8:00 AM
Walter Deffaa, the EC’s directorgeneral for regional policy, said at a Budapest conference earlier in the day that the Altus-led consortium had tendered the best bids for the two contracts it was awarded.
He added that a consortium cannot be turned down because the company leading the consortium is owned by a politician, and the Commission would have broken the rules had it decided otherwise.
In its statement, Fidesz insisted that “Brussels is openly stuffing the pocket of an active political player and thus his Democratic Coalition”, which, they said, could be viewed as forbidden party financing.
