The government’s job protection scheme currently supports employment for 900,000 people and more people may join the scheme, Péter Cseresnyés, state secretary at the economy ministry, told public news television M1.
With an annual budget of 135 billion forints (EUR 434m), the scheme is aimed at people at a disadvantage on the labour market such as career-starters, young mothers, people with skill shortages and people over 55.
Since 2013, when the scheme was launched, employers have saved over 300 billion forints (EUR 968m) thanks to the programme, the state secretary said.
