Doctors Collect Signatures For ‘Sustainable Health Care’

The trade union of junior doctors and specialists (ReSzaSz) is starting a signature drive for sustainable health care, the organisation said. ReSzaSz said it wants to be the government’s dedicated partner in developing a health-care system that will create sustainable and “dignified” circumstances for healing and being healed, so that Hungarians should not have the highest chance in Europe of dying from cancer.
Hungary spends around 2-3% less of its GDP on public health care than the Visegrad Group countries on average and at least an annual 600 billion forints more spending is needed to make improvements, it said.
The online campaign dubbed “human consultation” asks people to support an increase in state funding for health care by at least 2% of the GDP within the next three years.
