Official: First Year Of Migrant Quota Would Cost Hungary Huf 200bn
Hungary would need to spend a total of 200 billion forints (EUR 643.7m) on services related to the accommodation of migrants planned to be sent to Hungary under the European Union’s mandatory quota just in the first year, state secretary Bence Rétvári told the daily Magyar Idők.

In addition, the EU is “not likely” to contribute to that budget, the paper quoted Rétvári. By comparison, Rétvári said that “migrants would cost Hungary as much as the introduction of career models for teachers” and added that the country does not have the capacity to accommodate “innumerable” people.

The quota system would jeopardise “social security and jobs”.

“We need to decide if the money of Hungarian taxpayers should be spent on health, family benefits, welfare services, education, or on economic migrants”, Rétvári insisted.
