Rosalia – Rosé & Sparkling Wine Festival, City Park, 6 – 8 May
The event organisers sent us the following to keep Xpats in the loop: Rosé and sparkling wines, an easy-going welcome of summer, street food and live concerts in the most famous park of Budapest. Rosalia Festival has become a tradition. Thousands of people meet in May to welcome the upcoming summer with a few glasses of rosé and/or sparkling wine. You can taste all kinds of wines from light whites to heavy reds and even sweets but rosé and sparkling will be in the spotlight under century-old trees. Great gastronomy is waiting for festival-goers, keeping high quality and good matches to rosés and sparkling in mind.

You should not miss the chance to play at the elegant Butlers Wine Quiz Bar when visiting Rosalia Festival. After a playful course of professional tasting you will be able to easily notice technological defects (if there is any) of a wine. You will also learn about the different aromas, and the bouquet of the wine with the help of fragrance samples in small glass vials.

After turning the Wheel of Fortune you might also win a prize. You can also visit The Hungarian Vine and Wine in Europe exhibition, or play games related to traditional viticulture. Anyone with a Rosalia tasting glass can enter the Butlers Wine Quiz Bar for free.

Rosalia Festival is always an ideal event for families with children as well, providing several opportunities for the smallest to enjoy this sunny weekend. First, it is the location: the large, open spaces of the City Park (Városliget) is perfect for some fun in the green. Second, there will be quite a few exciting activities available for the very young.

Entry is free! However, if you want to taste some excellent wine, you can only do that in beautiful Stölzle crystal tasting glasses with the Rosalia logo - available at the festival for HUF 1,000. At Rosalia Festival you can pay either with a Festipay festival card (available on the spot), or with contactless MasterCard/Maestro PayPass or VISA payWave bank cards.
