Some Tobacco Products To Be Banned
- 17 May 2016 9:00 AM
Menthol and other flavoured cigarettes could be banned within a short time – as early as this year – and standard packaging on regular cigarettes could be introduced, Prime Minister’s Office chief János Lázár said last week.
Lázár explained such a move with the need to protect health and reducing the number of those who smoke.
The changes are in line with a recent EU directive.
The ban would apply to those products that contain fruit, spice or curative herb additives. Menthol-filled cigarettes and capsule tobacco products would be among the banned products.
