French Pair Tried To Take A Piece Of Parliament
- 14 Jun 2016 9:00 AM
Charges have been filed against two French citizens who attempted to steal a stone ornament from the exterior of the Parliament building, Budapest prosecutor general Tibor Ibolya announced on Monday. The 28-year-old woman and 27-year-old man climbed over barriers in the dawn hours of March 29, and crawled under an iron gate to a balcony that is off-limits to visitors.
They then took a piece of a pillar and were about to leave when they were stopped by patrolling guards.
The piece was retrieved. Prosecutors suggested that the two guilty parties should be fined.
