Hungarian Poll Shows Fewer Uncertain Voters
The ratio of uncertain voters has decreased and support for nearly all political parties increased, except for radical nationalist Jobbik, which lost support among decided voters, daily Magyar Idők said, citing the results of an October poll by ZRI Závecz Research.

According to the pollster, the campaign for the Oct. 2 referendum on European Union migrant quotas had a beneficial effect on support for several political parties.

Ruling Fidesz increased its support from 26% in September to 28% in October while support for radical nationalist Jobbik remained unchanged at 13%. Support for the opposition Socialists increased by 1 percentage point from 9% in September.

The opposition Democratic Coalition (DK) increased support from 5% in September to 6% in October and green opposition LMP remained unchanged at 3%. Support for opposition Együtt dropped by 1% to 2%, while both the Liberals and the Dialogue party stood at 1%.

The satirical Kétfarkú Kutya (Two-tailed Dog) party also received 1%, for the first time.

The ratio of people who said they shunned politics dropped from 37% in September to 32% in October and the proportion of decided voters increased to 38%.

In the latter group, Fidesz enjoyed 49% support, while support for Jobbik fell from 22% in September to 17% in October, while the Socialists received 14%.

A total of 8% of decided voters supported DK, LMP received 5%, Egyutt 3%, while the Liberals, Dialogue, and Kétfarkú Kutya received 1% each.
