Sector-peer Euronics is expecting to generate the highest daily turnover in its 27-year history this year after a record breaking year in 2015 on the same day, managing director Róbert Fajcsi told the business daily.

The company is slashing prices by 70% for some products and has Ft 10 billion worth of products for sale in stock, he added.

Furniture retailer Jysk is also on track to make record sales on Friday.

Hungarian shoppers are true bargain hunters; even consumers who can afford higher prices look explicitly for discounts, NRC Marketing and Media Markt’s survey shows.
