Politico cited news portal BuzzFeed News, according to which “senior EU and European officials have privately accused May of seeking closer ties with Orbán in an attempt to divide and conquer the EU”. Answering a question at the press conference, foreign minister Szijjártó said that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was scheduled to visit London next week for talks with his British counterpart.
The minister confirmed Hungary’s interest in the United Kingdom and the European Union concluding a reciprocally beneficial agreement on Brexit.
Hungary insists on protecting the rights of Hungarians working in Britain and takes a stand for maintaining as free and flexible investment, trade and economic cooperation as possible, Szijjártó said.
