Speaking from Rome by phone, István Lepsényi, state secretary for economic development and regulation, added that the countries concerned signed the memorandum during the EU’s Digital Day conference organised as part of events marking the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome.
The conference raised important technical issues such as legal regulations and data protections.
He noted that last November the Visegrad Group (V4) also signed an agreement on ensuring that autonomous vehicles can cross the borders of the V4 countries, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. Hungary, he said, wants to take a leading role in promoting European and regional cooperation on the issue.
