Swimming Tournament Hopes To Lure Rolling Stones
The government plans to spend Ft 3.5 billion on the opening ceremony of the World Aquatics Championships in July, Index reports. Organisers are hoping to attract The Rolling Stones as the highlight of a 90-minute opening ceremony on a stage on the Danube.

The Stones are the most expensive group in the world, according to Index, and would charge a fee of $1.5 million or more, depending on the type of event.

The government would spend an additional Ft 500 million on closing ceremonies.

The idea of booking the Rolling Stones reportedly arose because international television companies did not show interest in broadcasting the opening ceremony.

Negotiations with the band’s management are said to be progressing well.
