Hungarians On The Rise In Great Britain
- 26 Aug 2017 1:22 AM
The number of Hungarians living in Great Britain has grown by 11,000 in one year, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said on Thursday.
The number of Hungarians living in the UK rose from 80,000 in 2015 to 91,000 last year, 82,000 of whom live in England. London is the most popular among Hungarians, with 28,000 living in the British capital.
The rise may not necessarily mean that in a year more than 10,000 people left Hungary for Great Britain. It is possible that after last summer’s referendum an increasing number of individuals want to register themselves in Great Britain so as to make arrangements to remain in the country after a potential Brexit.
