Roma Pride Day Marked In Budapest

Hundreds gathered in Budapest for a march marking Roma Pride Day for the fifth time on Saturday. Participants marched from central Blaha Lujza Square to Nyugati Railway Station, demanding equal opportunities for the Roma community and chanting slogans such as “Solidarity!”, “Democracy, rule of law, republic!”, “We belong here!”.
Speaking to the crowd, former ombudsman László Majtényi said: “It is our shared moral duty to show solidarity with the poor and downtrodden.”
