Hungary Stops Turkish Trucks
About 400 Turkish trucks were stranded at the Romanian-Hungarian border on Saturday, as Hungarian authorities are not allowing them to enter the country.

The EU Court of Justice ruled last month that Turkish truck drivers delivering goods within the EU do not have to pay taxes.

Fatih Sener, head of the International Goods Forwarding Federation in Istanbul, said Hungarian authorities are refusing to issue documents necessary for crossing the border.

About 80 of those 400 trucks aim to deliver goods to Hungary and the rest are bound for destinations further west, primarily Germany.

Sener said Foreign Ministry state secretary Levente Magyar earlier promised that Hungary would provide the necessary documents to the Turkish drivers by the end of the year.
