Asked about her latest call for the opposition Democratic Coalition (DK) and LMP to cooperate with the Socialists, Kunhalmi said she had only expressed the will of those parties’ voters to topple the ruling Fidesz-Christian Democrat coalition.

“Everyone in their right mind can see that things cannot go on like this,” she said.

The Socialists still stand by the idea of all democratic opposition parties running jointly in the election, she said, adding that Fidesz could only be beaten if all parties stand together.
