Italian Festival Brings La Dolce Vita To Budapest
The fourth Italian Festival opened in Budapest on May 30, with events promoting a variety of products from Italy, and due to run until June 16.

The opening ceremony for the Italian Festival was held in “Akademia Italia”, with the participation of Italian Ambassador to Hungary Massimo Rustico; Marco Bulf, director of the Hungarian office of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE Budapest); Gian Luca Borghese, director of the Italian Institute of Culture; and Francesco Mari, president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce.

The Italian Festival presents Italy’s main exports, with the participating companies providing discounts and prizes for the guests.

The main goal is promoting Italian style and products “Made in Italy”, popularizing food, clothing and fashion, and vehicles as well as arts, culture, and tourism. More information can be found on the festival website (italianfestival.eu).

Hungary’s trade with Italy has been consistently growing in the past few years. Between 2014 and 2017, the value of bilateral trade grew by 33% from EUR 7.1 billion to EUR 9.5 bln. Hungary is now Italy’s fourth largest trading partner, ICE Budapest says.
