Polish, German Police Help Out In Hungary

Polish and German police officers are on duty in several parts of Heves county to assist their holidaying compatriots and Hungarian police in places favoured by foreign tourists.

This is the first time that German police have joined the co-operation agreement that has been functioning for years between Polish and Hungarian police.

Heves county police say the programme works because many Polish and German guests are happy to see the familiar uniforms.

The foreign police officers spend two weeks annually in Hungary to help out their Hungarian colleagues in the main tourist season.
