The Hungarian authorities have requested the waiver of immunity for Fidesz MEP Tamas Deutsch. The request was revealed by Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, at the opening of the plenary session in Strasbourg on Monday.
Ukraine is currently Hungary's enemy as it is trying to undermine the country's secure operations, energy security and sovereignty, Péter Szijjártó, the minister of foreign affairs and trade, said on Tuesday, adding that the government would not allow the country's secure operations to be put at risk.
The European Commission continues to share many of the concerns expressed by the European Parliament in its 2018 reasoned proposal triggering the Article 7 procedure against Hungary, the European Commissioner for democracy, justice and the rule of law said in Strasbourg.
Peter Szijjártó, the minister of foreign affairs and trade, is meeting his Iranian counterpart in New York on Tuesday to discuss ways to revive an earlier nuclear agreement.
