Tisza Seeking Regime Change in Hungary, Advocates 'New Compromise'
The opposition Tisza Party aims to achieve "not only a regime change but a new Compromise", party leader Peter Magyar said in a statement sent to MTI on Sunday.

"Whatever they do ... they know that it is over; they know that Tisza, together with millions of Hungarians, will take the country back step by step and brick by brick to build a peaceful and fair, European and liveable Hungary," the statement said.

"Tisza says no to divisions between Hungarians, an opposition between the provinces and Budapest, or between the elderly and young ... it will say no to corruption, propaganda, and inciting to hatred," the statement said, and called for "unity, reconciliation, and a new regime change."

Meanwhile, Menczer slams Tisza for 'speculating' on senior Fidesz voters' death

"It is disgusting that (people) in the Tisza Party wish for the death of pensioners," Tamas Menczer, the communications director of the ruling Fidesz-Christian Democrat alliance, said on Facebook on Saturday.

Menczer quoted Gyorgy Rasko, a supporter of the opposition party as saying on social media that "Tisza will benefit from the fact that many seniors, to the tune of hundreds of thousands, will no longer be voting at the next election."

"It is not true that Rasko ... would wish for the death of old people," Tisza leader Peter Magyar told MTI, adding that agricultural economist Rasko had not been nominated by Tisza in last summer's municipal and EP elections, nor was he a party member.
