Two New Restaurants In Budapest Win Prized Michelin Stars
The number of Budapest restaurants with Michelin stars has risen from four to six, with the inclusion of the Babel and Stand eateries in the latest edition of the gourmand’s guidebook.

Both are relative newcomers to Budapest’s gastronomic scene, as Stand was opened by chefs Tamás Széll and Szabina Szulló last summer, while Babel (pictured on top) opened in 2017.

They join previous awardees Borkonyha, Costes and Costes Downtown, all of which retained their Michelin star rating. Leading the way, Onyx has kept its two Michelin stars.

Széll and Szulló’s Stand25 restaurant, in the Fifth District market hall, received a Bib award, along with the Fricska and Petrus restaurants.
